Government of Ogun refutes claims of spending N1 trillion on Abeokuta-Sagamu-Siun Expressway, others

Denying the accusations, the Ogun State Government stated that it did not expend N1 trillion on the reconstruction of the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu Expressway.

Responding to allegations of financial mismanagement circulating on social media under the title “#Where is our money?”, the government issued a statement attributing the claims to political opponents of the governor.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Kayode Akinmade, the government refuted all the claims in the document, labeling them as groundless, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to ruin the reputation of the administration.

A section of the statement read, “Categorically, we declare that the accusations are entirely baseless, mischievous, and clearly manufactured by the political opponents of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State Government officials.

“The claims are not only a futile effort at character assassination but also an imaginative creation of the accusers.

“It is worth noting that these disgruntled elements have a history of instigating political chaos in Ogun State in the past.

“Some of them actively contributed to derailing previous administrations from successfully completing their governance responsibilities. They are resentful and shocked that Governor Dapo Abiodun continues to excel and maintain focus on his duties even after a year into his second term.

“In their desperation and deceitful schemes, they perhaps believe that linking the Governor with corruption would reduce his growing reputation. Their attempt has failed miserably!”
