Gov Yusuf Bestows N65m Sallah Present To Kano’s 6,166 Pilgrims

The governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has granted the amount of N65 million to 6,166 pilgrims from the State, who performed the 2023 Hajj in the Holy land of Saudi Arabia as a ‘Sallah gift’.

Alhaji Laminu Rabiu Danbappa, the Director General of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, revealed this on Monday during the post-Arafat meeting with officials at Makka.

He stated that each pilgrim would be presented with SRA 50.

The Director General declared that this gesture was in acknowledgment of the pilgrims’ good conduct in the Holy land.

He urged the pilgrims to use the governor’s gift and their Basic Travelling Allowances (BTAs) wisely, and avoid extravagant spending that might impede their return journey to the country after the exercise.

Furthermore, he encouraged the pilgrims to continue their efforts in positively representing the image of the state and the country in the Holy land.

He said, “the Pilgrims will return in groups the same way they came to the holy land on a first come, first served basis.”

Danbappa further clarified that the Board would commence the distribution of 32kg bag to Kano State pilgrims along with Sallah presents contributed by the Governor.

The Director General urged the pilgrims to be patient and fervently pray for Nigeria and Kano State in particular, for peace and tranquility.

Danbappa also beseeched Allah to accept their Hajj and bring them back home safely.
