Kogi State Governor Requests Federal Government Assistance for Security and Flooding Challenges

Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State, has urged the federal government to provide support in addressing the issues of insecurity and persistent flooding affecting certain areas within the state.

In a statement released on Friday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo emphasized the need for assistance during a meeting with a delegation from the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) at the Government House in Lokoja.

Highlighting the strategic location of Kogi as a transit state that shares borders with the federal capital territory and ten other states, the Governor stressed the necessity for increased financial aid from the federal government to tackle the existing security and flooding challenges.

Governor Ododo expressed concerns that the issues of insecurity and recurring flooding could potentially have repercussions on the federal capital, Abuja, as well as neighboring states if left unattended.
