FRSC Hands Over More Than N1 Million and Belongings to Family of Accident Victim


Following a tragic car crash on June 11, 2024, the Federal Road Safety Corps has returned a total of N1,034,010 and various possessions to the family of Mr. Najeem Abiodun Babalola who lost his life in the accident.

The items were presented to the victim’s mother by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Chorie Mutaa, in the presence of other family members, according to a statement signed by SRC Adamu S Ibrahim, Abuja Airport Unit Commander, and posted on X.com recently.

The fatal crash involved a Lexus 350 salon car and two motorcycles resulting in the untimely deaths of Mr. Babalola and two other individuals who were pronounced dead at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.

During the ceremony, the Sector Commander handed over a sum of N1,034,010 and personal belongings to the late Mr. Babalola’s mother along with the other family members.

Mr. Najeem was involved in the tragic crash on June 11, 2024, near the Iddo Sabo U-turn along the Abuja Airport junction – Giri route.

The Sector Commander extended condolences to the family and emphasized the crucial importance of adhering to traffic regulations.

He also praised the Abuja Airport Unit Commander and his team for their prompt rescue actions and awarded them with commendation letters.

Expressing their gratitude, the family thanked the Sector Commander and his team for their integrity, perseverance, and dedication to duty, especially acknowledging the professionalism demonstrated by the Unit Commander and his team in their efforts to contact the family despite the victim’s damaged phone.

The recovered items from the victim’s ash-colored bag included two POS machines, a Tecno phone, a power bank, five ATM cards, a lantern, and a USB.
