Former Yobe governor, Bukar Ibrahim buried in Saudi Arabia

The late former governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has been laid to rest in Saudi Arabia.

 

Ibrahim, who served as Yobe State governor from 1991-1992 and 1999-2007, and later represented the state in the Senate for three terms, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, while undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia at the age of 75. 

 

Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant, Communications and Strategy to Governor Mai Mala Buni, stated that the funeral took place at the Grand Mosque, Masjid Al Haram on Monday, February 5, after the dawn prayers. 

 

The funeral prayers were held twice after the Fajr prayers.

 

Governor Mai Mala Buni expressed deep sorrow over the loss and assured that the late senator would be honored with a ceremonial state burial.
