Former Lawmaker Onuigbo Praises Tinubu’s Commitment to South-East Development

Serving as a member of the House of Representatives, ex-lawmaker Sam Onuigbo lauds President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to promoting comprehensive growth in the post-civil war South East through the establishment of the South East Development Commission, SEDC.

Responding to Tinubu’s endorsement of the South East Development Commission Bill, Onuigbo expresses his appreciation for Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, for his efforts in ensuring the bill’s passage.

In a statement released in Abuja, Onuigbo highlights the commission’s responsibility of overseeing the comprehensive progress and development of the region.

The representative for the South East in the North East Development Commission also praises House members from the South East for collaborating on the bill as co-sponsors.

According to Onuigbo, this step demonstrates a genuine commitment to not only addressing the insecurity in the region but also tackling the long-standing infrastructure challenges that have affected the area.

He also acknowledges Kalu for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to advancing the development of the South East, exemplified by the initiation and execution of the Peace in the South East Project, PISE-P.

In addition, Onuigbo applauds Tinubu for his dedication to a unified and prosperous Nigeria, ensuring no region is left behind.

It is worth noting that the South East Development Commission, SEDC, Establishment Bill was jointly sponsored by Kalu and other representatives from the South East in the House of Representatives with the aim of receiving funding from the federation account for the development of the South East region.
