Former Governor Shekarau’s Kano Residence Engulfed in Flames

A devastating fire broke out at the Mundubawa country home belonging to the former governor Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, resulting in severe damage to the sitting room of his second wife, Halima Shekarau.

Although believed to have originated from the kitchen, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

Authorities from the State Fire Service bravely battled the flames to bring the situation under control.

According to a source close to the family, the fire reportedly started in the inner kitchen area.

The source mentioned, “Fortunately, the fire only impacted one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s sitting rooms, and the Fire Service personnel are actively working to extinguish it.”

The State Fire Service spokesperson has confirmed the incident, stating, “We are currently present at the site, and due to the ongoing firefighting efforts, I am unable to provide further details as our priority is to prevent the fire from spreading to other sections of the residence.”
