Former Governor Ortom Urges Supporters to Maintain Peace Amid Benue PDP Crisis

In the midst of the ongoing crisis within the Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Governor Samuel Ortom has made a plea to his supporters to refrain from further conflict.

Recent reports from NewsNow revealed clashes between Ortom’s supporters and those of Senator Gabriel Suswam over control of the party’s structure.

The party has witnessed a division into factions, accompanied by a series of reports of suspensions originating from various sources.

Issuing a statement through his spokesperson, Terver Akase, on Monday, Ortom stressed the importance of peace and unity among all members of the party in the state.

He acknowledged that differing opinions and positions are inherent in politics, noting that such divergences often enhance the democratic process and contribute to enriching discussions within political parties.

Emphasizing his longstanding friendship and mutual respect with Senator Suswam as fellow PDP leaders, Ortom expressed confidence in their ability to resolve any political disagreements amicably.

Chief Ortom urged all stakeholders to maintain their dedication and focus on the common goals and aspirations of the PDP, as they have consistently done in the past.
