Former Arsenal goalkeeper doubts club’s title chances

Shaka Hislop, a former goalkeeper, has expressed doubt that Arsenal can win the Premier League title if they depend on Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

In the past two seasons, Arsenal has been close to clinching the title but fell short. The team finished five points behind Manchester City in 2022/2023 and two points behind Pep Guardiola’s side in 2023/2024.

Hislop believes that Arsenal’s 20-year title drought will continue unless they bring in a new striker. He mentioned in an interview with ESPN that Arsenal needs to focus on their attacking options rather than their solid defense.

While acknowledging Havertz’s ability to score crucial goals in important matches, Hislop is not convinced that the player can lead Arsenal as the main striker to win the league. He also expressed skepticism about Gabriel Jesus’ potential to carry the team to victory.
