Former Adamawa Council Chairman killed in midnight attack

The former chairman of the Transition Management Committee of Ganye local government area in Adamawa State, Sabastine Kaikai, was killed in an attacked that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday April 14. The assailants launched the attack in Kaikai, the village where the former council chairman resided.

The motive behind the killing is still unknown. The incident took place while Sabastine was in his village for the Easter holiday. According to a neighbor, the gunmen arrived in the middle of the night, fired shots into the air, and headed to his house. Despite his attempt to escape, they were able to apprehend and kill him.

Mr. Kabiru Njidda, the Information Officer of Ganye local government, confirmed the incident and stated that the deceased’s body was taken to the Ganye General Hospital mortuary.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, reported that the police had responded by deploying a team to pursue the culprits and ensure their arrest.
