Five Footballers in Spain Found Positive for COVID-19 Following Extensive Testing

Following extensive testing conducted by clubs in preparation for the return of La Liga in June, it has been confirmed that five players in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19.

RAC1, a Catalan broadcaster, reported that three top-flight players and two from the Segunda division have returned positive test results in the initial round of COVID-19 testing ahead of the potential resumption of matches.

The identities of the affected players have not been disclosed, and these results are preliminary, with more awaiting confirmation.

It is expected that LaLiga will issue a public statement once all tests are finalized.

Every player in LaLiga, as well as coaching staff and other employees, is being tested for the Coronavirus as part of the comprehensive health and safety measures being implemented.
