Zang Luka, the CEO of Zang Technologies Limited, is featured in this week’s episode of First Class Materials, showcasing his exceptional innovation.
Luka, a young man from Plateau State in Nigeria, developed a foot mouse that allows individuals without hands to operate a computer using their feet.
Additionally, he has created a locally made power bank using electronic waste and a sand sieving machine that simplifies the process of sieving wet and dry sand for builders.

Luka was inspired to become an innovator after realizing the reliance on imported products in Nigeria with minimal domestic manufacturing. His goal is to create Nigerian products capable of global competition.
He conceived the idea for the foot mouse when contemplating the challenges faced by individuals with amputated arms in operating a computer, aiming to enable upper limb amputees to function effectively in corporate environments.
He demonstrated the functionality of the foot mouse in this episode, with a slipper on one side allowing the user to control the mouse pointer with one foot, while the other side facilitates “right click” or “left click” with the second foot.
Luka’s innovations have garnered several awards, including the Best Technological Innovation of the Year from the Federal Government of Nigeria and The Future Awards in the technology category.
