Fire guts shopping mall in Lagos

The shopping complex located on Ligali Ayorinde Street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State suffered a major fire on Wednesday, August 17th. The fire, which began in the early hours of the day, originated in a shop housing combustible items such as tires and car batteries. Officials from the state and Federal Fire Services worked together to bring the fire under control. Despite their efforts, the cause of the fire, which lasted for several hours, remains unknown.

The South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident and assured that both federal and state fire services successfully handled the situation. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a report will be released upon its completion.
