Finding a Solution to Fuel Shortages: MEMAN Takes Action to Alleviate Queues

Addressing the widespread petrol shortage in Nigeria, the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has introduced a petrol exchange process.

In a statement, Clement Isong, the CEO/Executive Secretary of MEMAN, revealed the initiative.

“An arrangement has been made to facilitate petrol exchanges in order to eradicate the long queues at fuel stations. Significant progress has been made since last Sunday towards resolving the issue promptly,” Isong remarked.

He added, “Our members are actively involved in lifting and sharing petrol to meet the demand. To ensure smooth distribution nationwide, we have established a system for members to borrow petrol from each other when needed.”

“Thanks to the cooperation among our members, the product is now available for distribution throughout Nigeria. We are working tirelessly every day to eliminate this shortage,” the statement emphasized.

Meanwhile, according to a report by NewsNow, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) projected that the petrol scarcity could persist for another two weeks.

Speaking on Sunday, Chinedu Ukadike, the Public Relations Officer of IPMAN, attributed the scarcity to challenges in sourcing petrol due to the ongoing maintenance of refineries in Europe.
