Mrs. Ufua boarded the taxi to New Benin, unaware of the passengers’ criminal intentions.
During the journey, they asked her to lower the window. When she complied, the glass was stuck. As she turned to inform them, she saw them snatching her bag. A struggle ensued, but she discovered her money was gone when she finally retrieved her bag.
After robbing her, they tried to push her out of the moving car, leading to injuries on her leg as she resisted and called for help.
A vigilant taxi driver came to her aid upon hearing her cries for help.
The driver revealed that he pursued the suspects upon hearing Mrs. Ufua’s distress. In an escape attempt, the suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a gutter.
They were subsequently apprehended, and the female member of the gang was disrobed.
Security officials intervened to prevent the lynching of the gang members.
