After being discovered in possession of a dry human hand, a female suspect has been taken into custody by the Osun State Police Command.
The arrest took place at Centre Area in Ikire around 10:40 a.m on Monday, February 17.
Confirming the arrest, the Osun State Police spokesperson stated that the Police Intelligence Unit, acting on a tip-off, unearthed the human part concealed in a bag. The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Johnson Kokumo, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident and warned against involvement in human parts trade.
Upon the completion of the investigation, the suspect will face charges in court.
