Fatai Osho Expresses Relief as Akwa United Ends Goal Drought

Fatai Osho, the head coach of Akwa United, appeared relieved following the team’s 1-0 victory over Lobi Stars at the Eket Township Stadium on Sunday.

The winning goal was scored by Seyi Oguntayo with a powerful shot from outside the box.

This victory marked Akwa United’s third win of the season.

Osho expressed excitement at seeing his team secure maximum points against one of the top-performing teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.

Reflecting on the win, Osho stated, “This victory is inspiring because for some time now we have been playing well but results were not forthcoming and it was frustrating.”

He added, “What we picked today against Lobi Stars is encouraging because we want to sustain this tempo in subsequent matches.”

Furthermore, Osho emphasized the importance of consistency, stating, “It’s not just about winning this game at home, we have to be more consistent because that is the only way we can swim out of where we are on the log. We have to go for points away from home.”

Despite the win, the Uyo club remains in the bottom half, occupying the 17th position in the table.

Akwa United’s next match will be against Heartland, which will be played away from home.
