Family Details: George and Angela Williams, Parents of Joshua Williams

Joshua Williams, the accomplished Super Bowl winner, has been raised by his father George Williams after the unfortunate loss of his mother, Angela Williams, at a young age. George took on the dual responsibilities of being a father and mother to Joshua. Hailing from North Carolina, Joshua is expected to shine as one of the standout players for the Chiefs in the 2024 Super Bowl, showcasing his exceptional football skills that he honed from his early days as a nickel cornerback at Fayetteville State University.

Transitioning to the outside corner in his second season, Joshua’s remarkable performance included 32 tackles, 11 passes defended, and two interceptions. Despite the cancellation of his junior season due to COVID-19, he persevered and was named first-team All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in his senior year. The Kansas City Chiefs recognized his potential, drafting him in the fourth round, and he made significant contributions to the team, particularly with crucial interceptions in key games such as the AFC Championship. His stellar performance in Super Bowl LVII played a pivotal role in the Chiefs’ victory, solidifying his upward trajectory as a star of the NFL.

Parents of Chiefs’ Joshua Williams

Born on October 17, 1999, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joshua Williams lost his mother, Angela, to heart issues when he was just six months old. Despite the challenges of single parenthood, his father George relocated to the Fayetteville region near Angela’s relatives, providing Joshua with a nurturing environment supported by his great aunt Ebony Augustus and uncle Ronald Louis Williams. George’s dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, as Joshua affectionately refers to him as ‘Superman’.

Joshua’s passion for football began at the tender age of five, fueled by his father’s enthusiasm. A veteran of the army, George instilled in Joshua a winning mindset and a disdain for losing. George recollects Joshua’s competitive spirit, recalling how his son would be devastated by defeat. This early exposure to the value of perseverance paved the way for Joshua’s future success in football.

George William’s Military Service

Beyond his role as a parent, George’s passion for service extended to the United States Army, where he served as a Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Plans from 2004 to 2009. Post his military service, George remained involved in the defense industry, working as a military analyst at Totalis Consulting Group Inc. and Data Solutions & Technology Incorporated. During Joshua’s high school years, George took on a contracting job with Lockheed Martin, which briefly required him to relocate to Europe.

In addition to Joshua, George and Angela had a daughter, Mattison Williams. Although George has not remarried, he has a child, Kellisa Williams, from a previous relationship. Joshua also shares a strong bond with his cousin Bryan Johnson, who was raised as a brother. Proud of his Caribbean heritage, George, originally from Saint Kitts and Nevis, earned a Business Administration degree from Webster University in 2010 and holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Management from the same university. Joshua proudly pays homage to his father’s roots, as evident from the St. Kitts and Nevis flag adorning his helmet. The celebration of Joshua’s achievement transcends football triumph, symbolizing the victory of a close-knit community and the collective pride of St. Kitts and Nevis.
