Facebook’s initiative to support employees during the pandemic

Reports indicate that Facebook, the social networking app, has decided to provide $1,000 to each of its 45,000 employees to support them during the coronavirus epidemic.

Every employee will receive $1,000 and be given an “exceeds” rating for their first six-month review of 2020. The company has also committed to paying its hourly workers, even if they are unable to work due to the coronavirus pandemic that is currently affecting the world.

For the first time in its 16-year history, Facebook is offering its employees their full normal bonuses. This move represents the largest bonus paid out by any company during the coronavirus outbreak.

The announcement was reportedly made by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in an internal company memo, as stated by The Information, with reporter Alex Heath covering Facebook’s activities.

Alex Heath’s tweet on Tuesday mentioned, ”Facebook CEO Zuckerberg announced internally that all 45K employees are getting $1,000 in cash and will earn at least their full bonuses for their six-month review. It’s the boldest step yet by a large co. to offset the financial impact of coronavirus.

‘I’m told Facebook has never done this — giving all employees at least their full normal bonuses — in its 16-year history”
