The talented 21-year-old sprinter clocked an impressive time of 22.05s, marking a season’s best for her. In a thrilling race, Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred clinched the victory, crossing the finish line in a swift 21.98s.
Meanwhile, McKenzie Long from the United States of America claimed the third position with a commendable time of 22.30s. Ofili’s remarkable accomplishment makes her the first Nigerian female athlete in 28 years to progress to the 200m final at the Olympics, following in the footsteps of Mary Onyali who achieved this feat at the Atlanta 1996 games and went on to secure a bronze medal.
