Exciting news about the upcoming youth empowerment programme by Adeleke

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has announced the launch of a youth empowerment initiative known as Imole Youth Corps, which will soon be introduced to the public.

During a stakeholders meeting of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Government House in Osogbo, the state capital, Adeleke also shared that the recent #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest in the state was resolved after a government delegation engaged with the protesters.

He assured that the protesters’ demands would be presented to President Bola Tinubu.

“Rest assured, your government is committed to fulfilling our electoral promises. Exciting developments are on the horizon. Our administration is actively working to bring relief to our citizens.

“We have recently disbursed bursaries to students and allocated nearly N4 billion to cooperatives in Osun. Numerous road and bridge construction projects are underway. A significant payment has been made towards half salary and cooperative deductions. We are also renovating healthcare facilities and educational institutions. Keep an eye out for the launch of Imole Youth Corps and the recruitment of new teachers,” mentioned the governor.

Regarding internal party matters, Adeleke urged PDP members to prioritize unity and to resolve any conflicts internally, emphasizing the importance of presenting a united front.

He added, “My plea to all of us is to uphold our unity. Let’s prevent our disagreements from escalating. We must stand together as a united PDP family. The upcoming local government elections are crucial for our 2026 governorship bid. Personal interests cannot outweigh the party’s collective interest.

“We must remember that we are up against a weakened opposition eager to undermine the state. Let’s not provide them with ammunition. It is vital to maintain party discipline and adhere to the decisions of our party leadership. This is how we can fortify the party and increase our chances of winning elections.”

In anticipation of the impending local government elections, the state party chairman, Sunday Bisi, assured that candidates would not be imposed, emphasizing that each local government would follow guidelines to democratically elect their representatives.

“I want to make it clear that candidates will not be forced upon anyone. Guidelines have been provided for each local government to select their preferred candidates. Our party is committed to offering a fair playing field to all members interested in running for chairman or councillor positions.

“I also urge party members to refrain from airing party issues on social media platforms. Moving forward, we will monitor and potentially penalize any member who disregards this directive,” he stated.
