Exciting Collaboration: PAU Joins Forces with CORA for Book Reading Series

A new partnership has been forged between the Pan-Atlantic University Press, a publishing entity of Pan-Atlantic University, and the Lagos Book and Arts Festival organizers, the Committee for Relevant Arts (CORA), to introduce a quarterly book reading and discussion series named PAU Booklogue.

Dr. Nwachukwu Egbunike, the Head of Press and a Senior Lecturer at the School of Media and Communication, PAU, revealed in a recent press release to NewsNow that PAU Booklogue is a ‘town-gown’ initiative designed to ‘bring scholarship to bear on society’ by showcasing books and authors published by PAU Press.

The inaugural edition of this event is scheduled for August 2024 and will feature a book discussion segment during the annual Lagos Book & Arts Festival in November.

Egbunike emphasized, “The initiative aims to spark lively discussions around the themes explored in our publications while tackling crucial social issues.

This endeavor also aligns with the vision of a dynamic press outlined by the Vice-Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University, Prof. Enase Okonedo, who is passionate about ensuring that the press contributes to the University’s strategic objectives.”

He further added, “Since its revamp in 2022, PAU Press has evolved from its humble beginnings into a fully-fledged university unit, enriching scholarly discourse across various disciplines through a diverse selection of books.

Similarly, Mr. Jahman Anikulapo, the Programme Chair of CORA, remarked, “The concept of the Booklogue aligns perfectly with CORA’s mission to enhance literacy in society, particularly through the BOOKTREK literacy campaign project, initiated over a decade ago in conjunction with our flagship initiative, the Lagos Book & Art Festival, entering its 26th year this November.”
