Ex-Chelsea Star Burley Suggests Mason Mount Regrets Manchester United Move

In a twist of fate, Mason Mount, the former Chelsea midfielder, may now be looking back with regret upon his decision to switch to Manchester United, as per insight from ex-Chelsea player Craig Burley.

Mount, who played a pivotal role at Stamford Bridge, made the move to Old Trafford last summer in a deal valued at £60 million, following a successful period with Chelsea including an integral part in their 2021 Champions League success.

Despite his efforts, the 25-year-old has faced challenges in his inaugural season at Manchester United, with injuries and a dip in form restricting his appearances in the Premier League to just five.

Even with a rare starting opportunity against Crystal Palace on Monday, Mount couldn’t prevent a humiliating 4-0 defeat for the Red Devils, adding more scrutiny to his decision to move.

Burley speculated that Mount might now be second-guessing his choice to depart Chelsea, expressing doubts that the transition to Manchester United has unfolded as expected.

Regarding Mount’s situation, Burley commented to ESPN, saying, “Mason Mount, obviously he’s had an injury-ravaged season, but even when he’s been fit he looks like a guy who’s thinking, ‘oh my god, I’ve just made a big mistake’.”

“Whilst he’s been poor himself and he’s been out for a while, he’s got to be thinking to himself, ‘I’ve made a terrible move here.’”
