Erik ten Hag claims Marcus Rashford deserved to be left out of the England squad for Euro 2024

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, expressed his opinion that Marcus Rashford should not have been included in England’s squad for Euro 2024.

Rashford was one of the notable absentees from Gareth Southgate’s squad, alongside Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish, and James Maddison.

Ten Hag stated that he was not surprised to see Rashford being left out.

While serving as a pundit for Dutch broadcaster NOS during England’s 1-0 victory over Serbia on Sunday, Ten Hag mentioned, “Grealish and Rashford both had performance issues this season.”

“When you are not performing at your best, there is a chance you might not be selected for your national team,” he added.

Rashford managed to score only eight goals in all competitions last season, a significant drop from the 30 goals he scored the previous year.
