Enzo Maresca: 15 Chelsea First Team Players Dropped, Squad Trimmed

According to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, only 28 out of the 43 registered players are part of the first-team training setup.

In a media briefing on Friday, Maresca emphasized the challenges of managing an oversized squad, stating it is not ideal.

Among the players currently training separately from the main team are Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

As Chelsea navigates the transfer market, these players have been isolated in training sessions as the club seeks solutions.

Maresca highlighted the situation by stating, “It is not productive to have 43 players in consideration; I am currently working with 28 players for training.”

He further explained, “The responsibility of finding opportunities for these individuals lies with Paul and Laurence, not with me.”
