Enugu state government capture COVID-19 patient who fled Delta isolation center

The Enugu state government has successfully apprehended a COVID-19 patient who absconded from the isolation facility in Delta state and sought refuge in Enugu. The patient, having tested positive in Delta, managed to escape and make their way to Enugu.

A statement from the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Media, Louis Amoke, revealed that the state’s COVID-19 taskforce acted promptly to track down and detain the patient. Additionally, measures such as contact tracing of individuals in contact with the patient and decontamination of visited locations have been initiated.

Following his capture, the patient has been returned to the Delta state government. The statement also confirmed that Enugu has recorded a total of 8 cases, with 6 currently receiving treatment.
