The recent Twitter praise for the Mechanical Engineering student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, came after he successfully developed a “manual ventilator” in just 2 days to support the treatment of Coronavirus patients.
Usman Dalhatu, a 200-level student at ABU, hailing from Gombe state, has a track record in invention since his time in secondary school and was able to construct the manual ventilator using locally available materials.
He clarified that his motivation for creating the manual ventilator was to contribute to the national effort to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.
