#EndBadGovernance Leads to Fatal Clash Between Security Operatives and Hoodlums in Kano

Strife erupted in various areas of Kano State on Saturday as a confrontation between hoodlums and security forces unfolded.

Reportedly, the turmoil began when certain residents flouted the government-imposed curfew, taking to the streets in continuation of the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations.

The clashes mainly transpired in Rijiyar Lemo, Kurna to Bachirawa areas in Fagge Local Government, Kofar Nassarawa in Kano Municipality, and Unguwa Uku area of Tarauni Local Government Area.

According to witnesses, around eight individuals lost their lives during the altercation, with many others sustaining severe injuries.

It was reported that a group of criminals, exploiting the guise of the anti-government movement, tried to ransack establishments, including a Rufaida yogurt shop, prompting the security forces to respond with force.

Upon reaching out to the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Abdulahi, he indicated that he was not yet abreast of the situation.

He stated, “I will release an official statement once I have gathered all relevant information.”
