Emma Ugolee’s Eye-Opener: The Story of a Love Lost

Emma Ugolee recently shared a personal experience to convey a powerful message to his audience.

He disclosed that he once expressed his feelings for a lady but was turned down. Later, he learned that she actually had feelings for him, but refrained from pursuing a relationship because she feared he might succumb to his kidney ailment.

Recently, he reconnected with a mutual acquaintance who informed him of the girl’s passing due to a twisted intestine.

This realization led him to the understanding that “one should never presume to know the fate of another.”

Alongside a photo of a 94-year-old Nigerian woman, the oldest Nigerian living with Sickle Cell Disorder, he expressed:

In 2012, I deeply cared for this girl. I was convinced our feelings were mutual, but she insisted we couldn’t be together. I cut off all communication to heal.
Months later, I met her close friend. She greeted me as “my in-law,” and I jokingly responded, “Forget it, in-law that you all abandoned.” She grasped my hand, and with genuine pain in her eyes, she confessed, “I swear Emma, she loved you. She confided in me, but she was scared of falling in love with you today and losing you tomorrow.”
I cannot deny that this news shattered me. It cut deep. “Emma, is that you? Kidney trouble,” was all I could manage. But truly, we cannot fault her for her valid fears.
In late 2018, this same friend was mentioned in one of my posts. We joyfully reconnected, but no “my in-law” banter.
My query about our friend was met with silence. Then she uttered, “I’m sorry, Emma, she passed away five years ago.”
It was my first encounter with a medical condition where intestines could become tangled. It broke my heart. This was around October.
Reflecting on it today, I felt thankful to God for allowing me to still breathe eight years later, and with that thought, came the inspiration for this message.
Human analysis, expectations, predictions, patterns, or norms have no sway over your tomorrow. Whatever they say today about your chances is inconsequential.

So, I vowed to never assume the end for anybody. Recognizing that I’m no more holy than those whose journeys have concluded, I understand that logic cannot explain the enduring power of grace. _
Merely encountering a pattern doesn’t dictate your future. Your confidence, vision, aspirations, and motivation should always tower above your surroundings as you declare with faith, “my case will be different.”
