Emir of Daura’s palace sealed following a Coronavirus case

Reports indicate that the palace of Umar Farouk, Emir of Daura has been sealed after recording a case of Coronavirus. 

 

According to Daily Trust, Mustapha Inuwa, the secretary to Katsina state government, stated that the closure is a normal procedure in places where a positive case has been detected. He further disclosed that samples were taken from the palace for Coronavirus tests. 

 

SP Isa Gambo, the state’s police spokesperson, informed the media in Katsina on Monday, May 4, that the police took action based on the directives of the state governor, Aminu Masari.

 

Gambo explained; 

 

“Daura is under lockdown and so it shall be in every nook and cranny in the town without exception to anybody’s house, the police are just ensuring the lockdown order of the state government.

“Don’t forget the first victim of coronavirus in Katsina was traced to Daura.”

 

According to Nigerian Tribune, the Emir had gathered over 1,000 people in his palace where he distributed food to them. It’s important to note that the first Coronavirus case in Katsina state was recorded in Daura.
