Ekiti State Proudly Discharges Its Recovered Coronavirus Patient

After receiving treatment, the index Coronavirus patient in Ekiti State has been discharged as the state government announced the successful recovery.

The patient, who had been under treatment at the Ekiti State Infectious Disease Control Centre in Ado-Ekiti since March 18, was declared free of the disease after two consecutive negative test results.

Ekiti State’s commissioner for health and human services, Moji Yaya-Kolade, confirmed the release of the index case and shared that the patient left the facility at 2pm on March 31. She also assured that the patient’s vital organs were functioning optimally.

Moji stated;

“We have tested him twice and the results were negative. He is doing fine and all tests carried out show that his organs are also functioning well. So, we are happy to discharge him.

“We shall still keep monitoring him from his base and we also appeal to members of the public to call the emergency numbers to report any suspected case, so we can take action in a timely manner. It was the timely intervention that saved our index case.

Governor Fayemi also expressed his gratitude on Twitter;
