Ekiti State Governor, Oyebanji: No Distractions for Second Term in 2026

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has affirmed that he will not allow any political maneuvering to distract him from his duties ahead of the 2026 governorship race in the state. He emphasized that the idea of a second term is not his priority at the moment.

The Governor also announced the commencement of construction work on a 1.2-kilometer flyover between Okeyinmi and Ijigbo roundabouts in Ado Ekiti to alleviate traffic congestion in the business district and improve the city’s aesthetics.

Oyebanji made these remarks on Saturday at the conclusion of the 2024 Week of Prayer organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in partnership with the Ekiti State Government at Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado Ekiti.

During the intercessional program, prayers were offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, the country’s security, and the success of the Biodun Oyebanji administration, which was rededicated to God for guidance and leadership.

The event featured a Bible exhortation from the CAN Chairman in Ekiti, Reverend Emmanuel Aribasoye, advocating for justice, fair play, and ethical conduct in the pursuit of peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.

Pastor Stephen Olumuyiwa, the National Leader of Intercessor for Nigeria, delivered a sermon urging the governor to diligently lead Ekiti toward righteousness, honesty, integrity, unity, peace, and prosperity in 2024, emphasizing the need to eliminate corruption, dishonesty, disorder, and injustice under Oyebanji’s leadership.
