Ejuke Joins Belgian Champions Royal Antwerp On One-year Deal

Belgian league champions Royal Antwerp have secured the services of Nigerian forward Chiders Ejuke on a one-year contract, following his departure from CSKA Moscow. The signing was announced by the club on their Twitter account.

“Welcome to the Bosuil! Nigerian Chidera Ejuke (25) has signed a one-season contract with RAFC,” said the club.

Ejuke was able to make the switch after taking advantage of an exemption from FIFA, which applies to players who are currently active in Russia, according to Antwerp.

Ejuke previously had a loan spell at Hertha last season, although he was unable to prevent the team from being relegated.

Before his time with CSKA Moscow, the 25-year-old began his European career at Valerenga, a Norwegian club, before later joining Heerenveen in the Netherlands.

In 2020, he made his debut for the Super Eagles in a friendly match against Tunisia, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Furthermore, Ejuke was also a member of the Super Eagles squad that competed in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
