EFCC Accused of Stealing Eagle in Logo following Response to Transparency International’s Rating of Nigeria

Allegations have been made against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for purportedly using a photo of an eagle in its logo amid its Twitter response to Transparency International’s ranking of Nigeria as the 146th most corrupt country out of 180 in the world.

Transparency International’s latest report places Nigeria at the 146th position out of 180 countries with a score of 26. In addition, it was ranked as the 16th most corrupt nation in Africa. In 2019, Nigeria was positioned 144th out of 180 nations with a CPI score of 27.

However, the EFCC dismissed the recent report as “baseless” and “illogical.” The anti-graft agency argued that the rating is far from the evident progress made in their fight against corruption, particularly under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

On the other hand, Nigerian Tech expert, Editi Effiong, accused the EFCC of not only being corrupt but also for allegedly taking the eagle in its logo from the internet.

He tweeted;
