Educational Sessions at EeZee Conceptz ‘Mindustry’ with ID Cabasa and Others

The second edition of the ‘EeZee Global Mindustry Conference’ at Daystar Christian Centre, Oregun, Lagos State, featured renowned singer and music producer Olumide Ogunade, also known as ID Cabasa, along with other industry heavyweights. They shared valuable insights and guidance with gospel artistes on achieving success in their careers during the week.

Cabasa emphasized the importance of building a sustainable structure for the gospel music industry and urged Christians to look beyond the church, promote unity, and extend love to their colleagues.

He emphasized, “The Gospel sends light forth, as the Bible tells us. We, as Christians, are the light in this world. There is no industry that is separate from another; we are all in the same field. The only difference is that we do everything to glorify the Lord.

“Those in the secular industry are your colleagues, just like how there are Christians and non-Christians working together in other professions. We must strive to be the light and seek knowledge. This does not diminish the role of gospel music; rather, it enhances the true worth of Christians.

“Our aim is to intentionally foster growth in the industry. That is our ultimate goal. We want to equip our people with knowledge about crucial issues such as copyright, promoting songs, partnerships, and collaborations.”

Another speaker at the conference, entertainment lawyer Foza Doza, enlightened the gospel music creatives on copyright and music licensing, stressing the importance of understanding proper documentation and licensing, and the need to enter contracts wherever possible.

He stated, “We, as people of God, need to operate at a level above mediocrity. Our counterparts in the secular world understand the business of music. Entertainment influences culture and molds what people accept or believe. As Christians, if we want to thrive in this space, we must comprehend the rules and adhere to them.”

The event also featured discussions led by other notable speakers such as singer Tosin Alao, music producer Edward Sunday, Minister GUC, Mike Abdul, and Tim Ogboruche, among others.
