Dunamis Investigation: Woman with Alleged Fake Testimony and NOUN Law Graduate

A recent incident involving Veronica Anyim, a woman accused by the senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, Paul Enenche, of providing a false testimony, has brought to light her educational background as a graduate of the Law Department at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Video footage of Anyim’s testimony, which circulated widely on Sunday, captured Enenche questioning the authenticity of her claims during a service at the church in Abuja.

According to her testimony, she purportedly obtained a “BSc in Law” from NOUN, but Enenche interrupted her, accusing her of deceit.

Enenche expressed doubts about her legal education, stating that her spoken language did not align with that of a Law graduate. He also disputed the existence of a “BSc in Law” degree and instructed her to step down from the pulpit.

It is worth noting that in 2016, NOUN officially announced the suspension of admissions into its Law program.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdallah Adamu, explained that the decision was a response to the Council for Legal Education’s exclusion of NOUN Law graduates from the Nigerian Law School.

The National Universities Commission recommended the suspension of Law program enrolment until the impasse with the Law School’s stance on NOUN graduates attending their program was resolved.

However, a thorough investigation by PUNCH Online confirmed Anyim’s legal education background at NOUN.

Anyim, with matriculation number NOU133971176 and full name Anyim Veronica Nnenna, completed various payment transactions at the university, including e-facilitation, ICT, and Library fees on March 21, 2017, and final clearance fee on April 8, 2024.

Additional checks revealed that Anyim enrolled in courses such as Law of Evidence, International Law and Diplomacy, Land Law 1 & 2, and Law of Taxation, among others.

An anonymous source from the Registrar’s office confirmed Anyim’s graduation status and inclusion in the 2024 graduation list.

When questioned about Anyim’s graduation in 2024, eight years after the program suspension, the source affirmed its feasibility.

The source noted instances of prolonged program completion, attributing delays to personal or professional commitments. The source also highlighted the simple process of deferring admission due to reasons like financial constraints affecting program availability.

Furthermore, Anyim’s Facebook page indicated her employment as a police officer and confirmed her graduation with a post expressing gratitude for completing her Law program at NOUN on April 13, 2024.

Her celebratory post acknowledged the milestone and thanked well-wishers, emphasizing faithfulness and blessings received.
