The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, encouraged Nigerian graduates to explore alternative job opportunities during a Townhall Meeting on Popularisation of blue/green collar jobs among graduates of tertiary institutions in Edo State. According to a statement released by the ministry, Ngige emphasized that the government alone cannot provide jobs for everyone and urged youths to consider entrepreneurship and other job sectors. He pointed out that the wealthiest youths worldwide are not government employees, but successful entrepreneurs who have excelled in various creative skills. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness about the benefits of blue/green-collar jobs as a response to the challenges of graduate unemployment.
