‘Don’t ask me, ask China’- Watch Trump clash with a Chinese-American reporter over Covid-19 question and then abruptly leave press briefing (Video)

The press briefing held in the White House rose garden featured testing equipment, swabs, and signs proclaiming America’s leadership in testing. This marked Trump’s first press conference since April 27.

During a question and answer session, Weijia Jiang, a Chinese-born reporter, and White House correspondent for CBS News, confronted Trump about his claims of the US performing better than any other country in testing, despite the rising number of cases and casualties in the country.

Trump responded by suggesting that the question should be directed to China, stating, “Don’t ask me. Ask China that question.” This prompted a back-and-forth exchange between Trump and Jiang, with Trump eventually leaving the podium abruptly.

The incident was captured in a dramatic video that has since circulated widely.
