Donald Trump, the President of the United States, applauded Politico for issuing an apology for an inaccurate report about him while continuing to criticize some of his least favorite media outlets, namely NY Post and Washington Post.
Last week, Politico reported that the president owed money to China, but the paper’s chief editor took to Twitter to issue a lengthy apology for the inaccurate report.
Politico admitted that they had made a mistake as Trump did not owe any money to China. The editor stated that they should have contacted the Bank of China before publishing the report.
Trump, who has consistently criticized the mainstream media in the US throughout his presidency, took to Twitter to retweet a post about Politico’s apology, captioning his tweet with ‘At least they admit it. The Failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost never correct their Fake Reporting!’
