The US President, Donald Trump, has expressed his appreciation for the American news website, Politico, after they issued an apology for an inaccurate report about him, while also continuing to criticize some media outlets, including NY Post and Washington Post.
Last week, Politico reported that the president owed money to China, but the paper’s chief editor took to Twitter to publish a lengthy apology for the false report.
Politico admitted that they had erred in their report, as Trump did not owe China any money. The editor acknowledged that they should have contacted the Bank of China before publishing the report.
In a continuation of his pattern of criticizing mainstream media throughout his presidency, Trump took to Twitter to retweet a post about Politico’s apology, adding the comment, ‘At least they admit it. The Failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost never correct their Fake Reporting!’
