Dixie Crush Country Singer, Lindsey Lagestee, Passes Away at the Age of 25 after Tragic Accident

Lindsey Lagestee, a member of the country cover band Dixie Crush, tragically passed away at the age of 25. 

 

She was struck by a car on her way to a performance in Illinois on Friday, February 14 and succumbed to her injuries on Monday, February 17. 

 

The band confirmed her untimely death on Facebook on Friday night along with a photo of Lagestee. “Some of you may have already heard the terrible news, but It is with the heaviest of hearts, we sadly share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday due to complications from the accident last Friday,” the post read. “Our hearts are broken over this senseless tragedy.”

The post further added, “Above and beyond being an incredible performer, great friend, and the best bandmate, Lindsey was a loving daughter to Linda and Vaughn, compassionate sister to Lauren, Carrie, and Samantha, adoring aunt to Andrew, Colin, Danielle, Alexander, and Amber, and wonderful girlfriend to Kevin.”

 

According to reports from Taste of Country, Lagestee was on her way to Firewater Saloon in Chicago for the band’s performance on February 14 when she was hit by a car while crossing the street. She was rushed to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where she later passed away due to her injuries. 

 

Her bandmate Jim Nonneman explained, ‘She had just parked a couple of blocks down for the club we were scheduled to play. She exited her pickup truck and was making her way to the venue when she was struck by a car.’

 

In addition to her music career, Lagestee was also a pharmacist who had earned a PharmD degree from Midwestern University. Her obituary states that a funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22.
