According to reports from Portuguese outlet Record, Arsenal is currently in talks to secure the services of Ousmane Diomande, a talented center-back from Sporting CP.
The 20-year-old, who made a move to Sporting from FC Midtjylland for £11 million just over a year ago, has made a strong impression during his time in Portugal.
Having a release clause of £68.5 million and Midtjylland holding a 20% sell-on clause, Diomande has attracted attention from several top clubs.
While Chelsea has shown interest by proposing a £51.4 million offer, Arsenal has also stepped up their pursuit and is discussing a potential summer transfer with both Sporting and the player himself.
Arsenal is reportedly ready to match Chelsea’s bid and is considering additional bonuses as well.
Despite Arsenal’s strong interest, competition is stiff with Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Bayern Munich also reportedly keeping tabs on the talented Ivory Coast international.
