Discovering My Husband at a Hotel With My Boyfriend: A Story

A Nigerian lady took to social media to share a fascinating story of how her boyfriend unintentionally led her to meet the man she would eventually marry.

Identified as Millicent Nwanyimanaria, she recounted how in 2016, she went with her boyfriend to a hotel where he needed to collect some documents.

While waiting for him by the poolside, she noticed a charming guy who caught her eye and instantly captivated her.

Despite her boyfriend’s absence, she struck up a conversation with the man she was drawn to and even gave him her phone number before her boyfriend returned.

Luckily for her, the man who would become her husband left before her boyfriend came back out.

“How I Met My Husband Challenge”

“It was in 2016 when I accompanied my then-boyfriend to a hotel to retrieve some documents from someone. He asked me to wait for him in their pool bar. As I sat there with my drink, this handsome man emerged from the reception, and immediately, I fell in love with him. It was love at first sight.

“He approached me and sat across from me, greeting me first. He asked why I was there all alone, and I fibbed that I was waiting for my cousin who had gone inside to see someone. He relaxed and initiated a conversation, telling me where he was from. I was elated when I heard Nnewi because I had always desired to meet someone from that town.”

“In my mind, I was thinking, ‘Please ask for my number before my boyfriend comes out.’ After what seemed like an eternity, he finally asked for my number, and I gave it to him. Right after we exchanged numbers, my then-boyfriend came out, and we left. This man didn’t call, and my friends teased me, saying that my premium Nnewi man hadn’t saved my number, hence the lack of a call. About a month later, he called and apologized for not contacting me earlier due to travel.”

“And that’s where our relationship began, leading to our marriage in November 2020. God has blessed us with a beautiful baby girl. You shouldn’t judge me; I’m not always like this. I don’t know what came over me, but perhaps God wanted to use my boyfriend to show me my husband. I’m glad I lied because he is my perfect man.”
