Exciting news from the creators of Propak West Africa, a renowned exhibition that focuses on packaging, plastics, printing, and food processing industries in the region. The upcoming 11th edition of this event will introduce new elements, featuring a special segment dedicated to product innovation.

The 2024 West Africa conference by Propak carries the theme ‘Unlocking Nigeria’s Food Security: Implementation of Smart Sustainable Packaging to Reduce Food Waste.’ The event is set to bring together 5,500 participants and host over 50 distinguished speakers spanning three days in September.

Emphasizing the significance of addressing critical issues within Nigeria’s food supply chain, the event organizers have designed this year’s theme to tackle these pressing concerns.

A highlight of the event will be the product innovation stage, offering a unique space for leading brands such as Tetrapak West Africa, SACMI, Bobst, Krones West Africa, and EPSON to showcase their latest advancements and innovations.

Participants are encouraged to secure their spots early for the limited 50 seats available in each session. These sessions will provide an up-close experience with state-of-the-art equipment propelling the industry forward.

“The product innovation stage will be active throughout the exhibition duration, providing abundant opportunities for visitors to gain valuable insights,” emphasized Propak.

Additionally, on September 10, the Advanced Institute of Packaging Professionals Nigeria, in partnership with the World Packaging Organisation and the African Packaging Organisation, will host the Smart Packaging Conference as part of the event.

The Smart Packaging Conference, a full-day program, will feature insights from over 20 speakers, exploring innovative strategies in sustainable packaging, cold chain technologies, e-commerce platforms for food distribution, and the integration of sustainable packaging within the food supply chain.

Scheduled to deliver the keynote address is the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, alongside experts from Flour Mills of Nigeria, LAWMA, Crown Flour Mill Ltd, Helen Keller International, and Value Ingredients Ltd.

Furthermore, on September 11, KPMG, the esteemed audit firm and strategic partner, will host a conference titled ‘Plastics for a Sustainable Future: Exploring Cross-sectoral Responsibilities, Innovation, and Sustainable Finance.’

This conference will delve into the pivotal role of sustainability in the plastics industry, featuring contributions from renowned figures such as the Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy to the Governor of Lagos State, Titilayo Oshodi, Victor Boyle-Komolafe, founder/CEO of GIVO Africa, and Chigozie Ejimogu, Head of Sustainability at Verod Capital.
