Regrettably, Blessing Oborodudu was unable to secure a spot in the final of the women’s 68kg wrestling competition as she was defeated by Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova in the semi-final, with a score of 3-1.
An injury hampered Oborodudu’s performance during the bout, leading to her loss. However, she will have the opportunity to compete for the bronze medal on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old athlete had triumphed in her two earlier matches on Monday, defeating competitors from Canada and France.
Notably, she had claimed the silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.
