Dettol’s Contribution to Lagos State’s Fight Against COVID-19

Supporting the campaign against COVID-19 in Nigeria, Dettol, a hygiene brand, made a generous donation on Thursday, April 30, 2020. They contributed over 12,000 units of its Antiseptic liquid and Antibacterial soap to the Lagos State Safety Commission. This is part of the joint efforts of private and public sectors across the country to ensure that citizens maintain safe health practices during the global pandemic.

The donation is part of Dettol’s commitment to assist the state government in providing aid, including the distribution of hygiene products such as Dettol Antiseptic Liquid and antiseptic soaps, to vulnerable residents in Lagos.

The commission emphasized the necessity of the products, stating, “In the course of going around Lagos State to educate and enforce the compulsory lockdown, the major problem we faced in different communities was hunger and hygiene. We have been distributing food and hygiene products and we appreciate Dettol’s contribution to our cause. It will go a long way in helping a lot of vulnerable people.”

 

Commenting on the donations, Dayanand Sriram, General Manager of RB Nigeria, expressed, “RB is glad to extend its support in the fight against COVID-19 to the Lagos state government with the donation of our hygiene products. Dettol protects from up to 100 illness causing germs, and we will not relent in our advocacy of good hygiene practices and support for the country during and after this pandemic.”

The Director of Admin & HR, Mr. Taiwo Fesomu, representing the Lagos State Safety Commission, received the hygiene products at Alausa Secretariat, Lagos.

 

Since the outbreak of the virus in Nigeria, Dettol has extended its support to various state and federal government organizations. They have partnered with the NCDC to educate the public on COVID-19 prevention and provided assistance to the Ogun State government by donating hygiene products as part of the stimulus package for vulnerable citizens affected by the lockdown.
