Dele Momodu expresses his displeasure as FG bars international flights from coming into the country

The Federal Government has decided to bar international flights for one month in a move to combat the spread of Coronavirus, which has drawn the dissatisfaction of Dele Momodu. This measure, announced by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and signed by its Director General, Musa Nuhu, will restrict international flights from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja until April 23, 2020. In addition, the closure of three international airports in Nigeria has been ordered by the government, namely Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Akanu Ibiam International Airport, and Port Harcourt International Airport.

Dele Momodu strongly opposes the government’s decision, expressing concerns about the adverse impact on both Nigerians and foreigners. He criticized the lack of comprehensive details and coordination in the decision-making process and emphasized the potential hardships faced by individuals, particularly those residing abroad or visiting Nigeria. Momodu emphasized the need for the government to ease the burden on its citizens during these challenging times and provide clear strategies to mitigate the impact of the flight restrictions.

Momodu’s disapproval underscores the complexity of the situation and the necessity for the government to offer palliatives and reduce the overall difficulties faced by the public. He asserted that the closure would disproportionately affect the less privileged, calling for transparency in the government’s approach to alleviate the hardships caused by the restrictions.
