Death of Former Nigerian Minister Kenneth Gbagi

At the age of 62, Kenneth Gbagi, a former Nigerian Minister of Education and a 2023 governorship candidate, has passed away.

Reports indicate that he breathed his last on Saturday.

This sad news was officially confirmed by his eldest son, Emuoboh Gbagi.

“With deep sorrow but a heart full of gratitude to God, we announce the departure of our dear father, grandfather, husband, and brother.

“Orogun Kenneth Omemavwa Gbagi, the former Minister of Education, bid farewell on May 4, 2024, at the age of 62.

“We find solace in the cherished memories of his life, accomplishments, and the positive influence he had on numerous individuals and communities.

“During this trying period of loss, we humbly ask for your thoughts and prayers for our family. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he expressed.

Gbagi was the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party during the recent election in Delta State.

It is worth mentioning that Gbagi was defeated by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 Delta State governorship election.
