Deadline for Submission of Technical Logs for Private Jet Owners is August 2 – NCAA

According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, owners of permits for non-commercial flights who have not provided the agency with technical log information for the past two years are required to do so by August 2 to avoid penalties.

The directive was issued in a letter signed by Olusunmibo Oyerinde, the General Manager of Facilitation/Economic Regulation at the NCAA.

The agency has requested operational and technical data for each private jet, including journey logs and maintenance records, among other details.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, recently accused holders of permits for non-commercial flights of assisting illicit jet owners in carrying out illegal activities in the country.

In order to monitor private jet movements, the NCAA has set the deadline of August 2 for the submission of technical log records from the past two years, following previous non-compliance by many permit holders.

All PNCF operators are required to submit their technical log records from the past two years by filling out the provided summary sheet, detailing monthly flight sectors per aircraft as per the PNCF Operations Tech Log Form provided.

The ultimatum letter states, “This is a follow-up on the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority’s previous communication regarding the submission of your Tech Log for the past two years. The Authority has not received the necessary documents from you.

“Therefore, as per the conditions of your permit, you are reminded to provide the tech log information for your operations from the last two years to the NCAA by completing the summary sheet with details of flight sectors per month per aircraft, as specified in the attached PNCF operations tech log form.

“The completed PNCF operations tech log form must be submitted to the Authority on or before Friday, August 2, 2024.”

In July, the NCAA suspended 10 private jet companies for engaging in unauthorized commercial activities.

The suspension was enforced under the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 Part 18.3.4, which prohibits permit holders for non-commercial flights from using their aircraft for commercial operations or charter services.

The suspended operators included Azikel Dredging Nigeria Ltd, Bli-Aviation Safety Services, Ferry Aviation Developments Ltd, Matrix Energy Ltd, Marrietta Management Services Ltd, Worldwide Skypaths Services, Mattini Airline Services Ltd, Aero Lead Ltd, Sky Bird Air Ltd, and Ezuma Jets Ltd.

In June, the Ministerial Task Force on Illegal Private Charter Operations and Related Matters was inaugurated by the minister to address unauthorized and illegal charter flights.
