COVID-19 Update: 242 New Cases Reported in Nigeria, with 88 in Lagos and 64 in Kano


Monday, May 11, 2020, saw the confirmation of 242 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria. 

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that 88 cases were recorded in Lagos, 64 in Kano,  49 in Katsina, 13 in Kaduna,  9 in Ogun,  6 in Gombe, 4 in Adamawa, 3 in FCT, 1 in Ondo, 1 in Oyo, 1 in Rivers, 1 in Zamfara, 1 in Borno, and  1 in Bauchi State.

 

The health agency also acknowledged an error made in its announcement on April 10th. It clarified that two new deaths were erroneously announced instead of one in Nasarawa State.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 4641. 902 patients have been discharged from various Isolation centers across the country, while 150 deaths have been recorded.
